Dr. Shruti Sharma, Program Manager, Clean Energy Business Incubator Program & Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center

Dr. Shruti Sharma is Program Manager for the Clean Energy Business Incubator Program (CEBIP) and the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center (AERTC), a NYS Center of Excellence, both located at Stony Brook University (SBU). As a member of the CEBIP Operations Team, Shruti interfaces with the incubator clients to understand their needs and provide support through one-on-one meetings, creating workshop solutions for professional and business development of client companies, grant reviews, etc. Additionally, she manages CEBIP collaborators and contractor relations, drives CEBIP’s client pipeline creation and intake, and handles CEBIP marketing and resource management.

Her education includes B.Tech. with Honors in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB), India and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stony Brook University.

Dr. Tomasz Bakowski, Senior Manager, Bristol Myers Squibb

Tomasz Bakowski is a Biomedical Engineering PhD with demonstrated research, data analytics, strategic planning, and client-facing project management skills developed in roles in life-sciences strategy consulting and pharmaceutical / biotech commercial strategy roles. He defended his PhD dissertation in August 2015 ("Probing DNA Dynamics with Fluorescence Cross-Correlation Spectroscopy). During his PhD, Tomasz was active in several volunteer projects / organizations including GCA and GSO (Stony Brook) and the Solution Lab (NYC). Post academia, he transitioned to consulting, working at Acsel Health for 3 years. At Acsel Health, he worked for over a dozen different top 20 pharma and smaller biotech companies on a range of pricing, market access, commercialization, forecasting, and opportunity assessment projects. Currently, he works at Bristol Myers Squibb as the Senior Manager for Forecasting and Strategic Planning. In that role, he is responsible for determining both the short- and long-term forecasts and strategic plans for BMS' in-market and pipeline Cardiovascular assets.
